You Are Invited To Get Involved
We all recognize that as a new student your highest priorities are your adjustment to the University and getting off to a good start academically. We encourage you, however, to find some time for participation in out-of-class activities. Think about joining a departmental club in your major. If you haven’t picked a major yet, join a club in a major you are considering. It will give you a chance to meet other students who have been in the major for some time and an opportunity to get to know some of the faculty on an informal basis.
There are real and lasting benefits from such activities and they serve to better prepare you for the world in which you will earn your living. Student leaders and group members who have taken advantage of the opportunity to participate have gained organizational skills, learned to communicate more effectively, made new friends, helped to effect change in the University itself–and they have gained a great sense of personal reward. So...get involved, because it is all a part of the Pacific experience!
The purpose of this page is to orient you to the types of clubs and organizations we have at Pacific, and to give you a summary of the activities and goals of each of them. The information in these documents is given in the words of each organization’s own representative, if available, or from the group’s permanent charter records. It is organized in the following format:
Name of Organization
Mission statement or statement of purpose
President: President’s name
email address and phone (if available)
Advisor: Advisor’s name
email address and phone (if available)
Each document is divided into general categories of the types of groups at Pacific. The Clubs are listed alphabetically with Honoraries and Professionals first.
Life beyond the classroom is important to your education. Club and organizational involvement provides you the opportunity to develop and refine a wide range of skills, offers participation in decision making regarding university policy, a chance for you to accomplish great things, leaving your mark behind, not to mention recognition both on and off-campus, and a lot of fun! Get Involved!
